 Ornamental concrete block was one of a number of building materials, including asphalt, linoleum and ceramic tiles, that came into use in residential architecture in the post-Victorian era. In celebration of Preservation Month, Rebecca Hunter will present the many buildings in Elgin that are faced with ornamental concrete block, including 73 homes.
