It's all about perspective: How we view our students seriously matters.Library: Main Library Map
It is very easy for us to view our students from a deficit paradigm as opposed to an asset or strengths perspective. Teachers and Librarians will learn about their own biases and what contributes to these biases. We will also learn how to implement more productive practices when working with culturally and linguistically diverse students.
Our presenter is Dr. James Cohen, an experienced Associate Professor of ESL/Bilingual Education in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Northern Illinois University.
