Event Type: Activity

Date: 8/16/2018
Start Time: 7:00 PM
End Time: 8:45 PM
This is the monthly meeting of the Elgin Genealogical Society.

Kimberly Nagy will be presenting “Local Histories Add Clues to Your Genealogy.” She will discuss how local histories can often be maligned when discussing accurate sources. However, used correctly, these local histories can be very helpful by providing clues for future research.

Kimberly Nagy, MD PLCGS has been researching her ancestry for over forty years. Much of her experience predates the internet and she loves the smell of old books in libraries, courthouses and archives. Now retired from her career as a Trauma Surgeon, she devotes all of her time to Genealogy. She has extensive experience with Lineage Society applications and loves to lecture- both are reflected in her work as a professional genealogist.
