 This is the monthly meeting of the Elgin Genealogical Society at which Ginger Frere will present “Adding Context: Social History for Genealogists.” She will demonstrate how to add depth and greater human interest to your family stories. Social history concentrates on the experiences of ordinary people – people like our ancestors. It can provide us with insights into their daily lives. From weather reports to labor reports, industry histories to public health, learn how to find sources you can use to make your family history come alive.
